Racism and Segregation alive and well

Recently a small church in Tomahawk, KY, voted to ban inter-racial marriage in their church. The Gulnare Free Baptist church voted 9 - 6 for the measure with the rest of the approximately 40 member congregation walking out without voting.
Of course the person who member who wrote the rule, Melvin Thompson, came ups with this classic line:
“I am not racist. I will tell you that. I am not prejudiced against any race of people, have never in my lifetime spoke evil about a race,” said Thompson, - Washington Post 12/1/2011
Phew, glad it had nothing to do with racism.

I don't know what is worse though, well obviously the racism, but I have seen that in my travels down south,  but what really bothers me is that only 15 people had the guts to vote, everyone else walked out.

Sadly this tells me more about the people of this church than the fact they voted for the ban.
